Race cars Ferrari F1 began their victorious life yet in 1989, when after the interdiction to use turbo-superchargers, it was authorized to use engines with volume of up to 3,5 l. This race car, according to the engineers, was considerably a new car(regardless of the similarity to the previous models) as it was designed in a wind tunnel of a new type, which allowed to improve the air shape of Ferrari F1 up to the maximum and to gain a lot in aerodynamics. However, improvements related not only to this sphere, technical capabilities of Ferrari F1 2000 have grown as well. Among "highlights", it is necessary to note the double clutch. But already in 2001, because of the new technical rules of Formula 1, it was necessary to rework even this version. Next year, Ferrari F1 changed its characteristics. In model Ferrari F1 2002 a new titan gearbox was installed, the weight of the chassis was considerably reduced, the centre of gravity was lowered, and the aerodynamics was improved. Ferrari F2003-GA was called at helping in preserving to the Ferrari team the rank of the champion and not to allow contenders (Williams BMW, McLaren Mercedes) to win the champion title. Ferrari F2004 had a new motor 053 installed with new tires from Bridgestone, which made it necessary to change virtually each part of the race car. New materials were used to reduce the weight and to increase the practical outcome. For Ferrari F1 to feel better with the new tires from Bridgestone, the aerodynamic package and the chassis were also changed. The new Ferrari F1 justified all expectations. In 2004 there was the new model FERRARI F430 F1. Characteristics of this model please a lot: a V8 engine with the volume of 4308 cub. cm, power of 490 h.p., speeding up to 100 льзр within 4 seconds, and the maximal speed of 315 kmph. FERRARI F430 F1 is a bright representative of sports cars, graceful and fast, its price makes 210000 euros.
